Business Analyst, Marketing - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Marketing Business Analyst reports to the AVP, Brand Marketing – PF and will be responsible for processing, mining, and analyzing business and market data to improve decision-making across cross-functional teams. The individual will design, develop, and maintain reports, conduct data analysis, and provide actionable insights across Retail and E-Tail channels to improve business creating and maintaining monthly reporting and projection models for products and customers. This position supports the Marketing division by providing accurate and timely analysis on the identification and evaluation of business results, business trends, customer mix, new customers, and market growth opportunities, incorporating business intelligence, and forecast information gathered from Marketing, Sales, customers, and syndicated consumer data. This role requires the ability to collaborate with marketing team members, generating ideas/recommendations that combine analytical, marketing, and business thinking.

Essential Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data from different sources to evaluate one or more of the following: business results, market trends, user behavior, customer acquisition, loyalty, competitive landscape, cost/benefit, and value attributed to marketing activities
  • Designs standard dashboards to monitor and share business health and performance, aligned specifically to the Brand’s annual growth objectives
  • Identifies and monitors competitors, web traffic, and conditions or changes in customer behavior that may affect sales and formulates effective marketing techniques
  • Collaborates with the digital marketing analytics team to interpret, report out, and improve campaign efficacy over time
  • Performs both product and customer segmentation analysis to determine appropriate focus areas. Develop marketing models to determine the impact of marketing, price elasticity, and promotional lift
  • Understands competitive landscape, surveys VOC (voice of customer), completes specific research projects in support of product and strategic planning process, and assists in developing unique value propositions for products
  • Supports the strategic marketing, commercial, product, and other cross-functional teams on the division’s strategy, action plans, and execution
  • Partners with commercial teams to drive the ideation, creation, analysis, presentation, and championing of new sales initiatives or business growth opportunities
  • Supports the development of compelling business case(s) for key initiatives, including detailed market and financial analysis
  • Responsible for assisting the Marketing leadership as assigned in duties required to meet business objectives
  • Perform other duties as needed and directed by management
Business Analyst, Marketing - Job requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Business Strategy, Strategic Marketing, Market and Competitive Intelligence, Product Management, Project Management, Finance, and Data Analysis, preferably in the CPG industry
  • Business Intelligence software, visualization, and dashboard creation experience (Tableau, Power BI, other) - Intermediate to Advanced skill set
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience: additional database and programming experience preferred
