The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is responsible for the reliable operation of New York’s nearly 11,000 miles of high-voltage transmission and the dispatch of more than 500 electric power generators. In addition, we administer bulk power markets that trade an average of $7.8 billion in electricity and related products annually.
As a not-for-profit independent system operator, we are governed by a 9-member Board of Directors. Market Participants and Stakeholders in New York’s electricity markets play a significant role in our unique shared governance process.

Job Description & Responsibilities
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future.
The NYISO invites applications for a full-time Senior Product Business Analyst position for the Forward Market Products team. We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter, enjoys working in a dynamic, highly collaborative and team-oriented environment and possess excellent requirement elicitation and communication skills.
The Forward Market Products team supports the Ancillary Services Markets and is engaged in multiple key initiatives critical to the evolution of the wholesale electric marketplace . The Senior Product Business Analyst will function as a crucial partner bringing the needs of the NYISO business units and Market Participants to the project teams to build new capabilities and implement modifications to the existing suite of software applications. The successful candidate will elicit, document , prioritize and communicate functional and technical business requirements and work closely with all stakeholders to develop and implement desired solutions.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- A minimum of five to seven years related analyst experience performing increasingly more complex and technical analyses, including development of high level and detailed business requirements for use in software development
- Experience with software development life cycle
