Senior Business Analyst, Parnerships - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will work closely with Partner Publishing colleagues and leadership to perform operational and commercial analysis, identifying risks, opportunities, and portfolio optimization; with a special focus on partnership renewals, negotiation strategies, financial forecasts, contractual budgets, new business opportunities, and portfolio movement. Be available to coach and assist more junior colleagues with an approachable attitude and willingness to act as a knowledge resource. Effective communication of complex financial and data-related information, a nuanced understanding of the shifting publication landscape, and the ability to help educate others is paramount to this role

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Analyze and forecast partner journal portfolios’ finances for partner bid and renewal proposals, model appropriate financial arrangements, identify operational improvements, and build negotiation strategy for various competitive scenarios. Specific focus (as necessary) on complex and multijournal bids, renewals and budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and automate reporting, contributing commentary and insights on portfolio movement, and ongoing proposal statuses as requested.
  • Undertake financial Risk + Opportunity assessments for escalation to Business Analyst Manager and Partner Publishing partners, and remediation planning.
  • Identify areas for standardization and increased business efficiency and optimization in partnership journals as well as across proposal development and approvals.
  • Support and educate colleagues outside of BA&E understand and interpret financial, data, and analytical information. Provide background and rationale to colleagues on assumptions and predictions.
  • Support external auditing requests by connecting with Contracts Enablement team to confirm license agreement details.
