Job Description & Responsibilities
Position Overview: Under minimal supervision, the Senior Business Analyst develops data-driven insights and solutions for various business groups, including but not limited to store operations, real estate, and finance. The role is focused on providing information-based, actionable solutions to support the company's strategic goals and enhance business insights.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic Insight Development: Propose original and innovative insights and strategic direction to key stakeholders. Apply methodologies creatively to support future strategic decisions, including capital investments, budgeting, site selection, and store/regional performance.
Scenario Analysis: Design and execute scenarios and analyses, such as heat maps and Net Present Value (NPV) analysis, to evaluate the impact of business decisions. Develop future market strategies and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
Business Research & Analysis: Research and analyze key business drivers, competitive environments, opportunities, trends, and operating metrics. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to formulate business direction, ensuring insights can be leveraged for future decisions.
Quantitative Analysis: Conduct complex quantitative analyses and advanced modeling, translating data into actionable insights.
Analytical Solution Development: Design, develop, and deliver complex analytical solutions, resulting in decision support or models, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Predictive Modeling: Develop predictive models to assess future scenarios and conduct statistical analysis to formulate conclusions and recommendations.
Mentorship & Oversight: Review and audit the work of Business Analysts I and II, and mentor them to enhance their skills.
Industry Knowledge: Stay current on the latest industry technologies, techniques, trends, and strategies.
Customer Service: Assist employees, vendors, or other customers by answering questions related to data analysis processes, procedures, and services, ensuring exceptional customer service.
Other Duties: Complete work in a timely and accurate manner, manage additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience in conducting operations, product, and financial analysis, and developing insights using regression models and statistical analysis.
Advanced experience with statistical tools (R, SAS) and front-end reporting tools (Microstrategy) is preferred.
Technical Skills
Experience working with senior-level executive leadership is required.
Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in popular modeling toolsets for cluster analysis and advanced predictive modeling.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Advanced proficiency in SQL, with the ability to read and write queries.
Communication: Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and articulate technical ideas to non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Business Acumen: Understanding of business issues, priorities, goals, and strategy is essential. Domain knowledge in retail, manufacturing, store operations, automotive, real estate, or services is helpful.
Project Management: Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet various deadlines under pressure.
Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Personal Attributes: Organizational and problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, adaptability to changing requirements, confidentiality, respect for others, and upholding company values.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
A Master’s degree in a quantitative field or an MBA is strongly preferred.
What we offer
Salary:
$110,000 - $140,000 a year
