Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is looking for a Senior Identity Access Management (IAM) & Contingent Worker (CW) Functional Business Analyst to work on the IT Workforce Management team. The position reports to the Executive Director, Corporate IT. This role requires experience in solution delivery, end-to-end process creation and review, as well as active participation in technical solution meetings with stakeholders across various domains within the organization. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving business decisions while closely collaborating with partners and the leadership team. Responsibilities include defining and updating business process workflow documentation, facilitating the identification, and gathering of requirements, participating in solution design, performing quality control activities, and documenting potential future value-added opportunities. This role offers a hybrid work environment and is based in Culver City.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

  • Assist in gathering business and technical requirements for IAM & Workday CW initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders, including P&O and IT teams, business units, and security personnel. Contingent wrokers are workers not paid by Sony Payroll)
  • Analyze requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives and IAM best practices.

Product Delivery And Management

  • Lead the delivery of key product developments to IAM, Workday, and contingent worker management, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Develop delivery plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues and risks related to solution delivery.

End-to-End Process Management

  • Create, review, and optimize end-to-end processes related to contingent worker management, IAM, and Workday functionality.
  • Actively participate in technical solution meetings, providing expertise and guidance on IAM and Workday-related matters to inform decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to drive strategic initiatives, influence business decisions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

Testing, Training And Support

  • Support technical implementation activities by defining and performing the appropriate quality control processes related to testing, validation, and deployment efforts.
  • Develop process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to support process standardization and knowledge transfer.
  • Assist in support change management responsibilities such as providing training and support to end-users on Contingent Worker Management, IAM policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Address user inquiries and issues related to Workday Contingent Worker management, end to end access management and downstream integrations.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the business and technology landscape.
Senior Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on Identity Access Management (IAM) and Workday functionality.
  • Strong understanding of IAM principles and practices, with hands-on experience in configuring IAM solutions. Proficiency in Workday HCM support.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, with excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize end-to-end processes to drive efficiency and improve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in documenting processes and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation and presentations. Good communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
