Job Summary
The Resort Application Development (RAD) Projects Team is an agile software development team that is focused on creating and enhancing our resort-based applications. Our projects consist of high priority, capital funded projects that align with highly critical business initiatives. The Senior BA role has a tremendous opportunity to partner with stakeholders across the organization and support our operations. This position is based out of Vail Resorts corporate office in Broomfield, CO with the option to work remote and/or access the office as desired.
A Senior BA on the RAD Projects Team is seen as an ambitious leader and subject matter expert. They create strong partnerships with our stakeholders and fellow team members to gather, document, and approve all business requirements that shape the software development process.
- Strong desire to be a hands-on BA that leverages their technical experience and has a strong aptitude to learn new technical details quickly.
- Effective in managing stakeholder forums, communication and expectations during the requirements gathering process.
- Quick learner in understanding business needs and translating into actionable user stories.
- Partners and collaborates with PM/Scrum master and lead developer to identify priorities, quickly resolve questions and meet sprint goals.
- Actively engages with QA resources to ensure AC’s are clear and testing is effective.
- Collaborates effectively with developers to determine technology solutions to delight our stakeholders.
- Demonstrates maturity in understanding and considering the impacts for short-term vs long-term solution options.
- Is highly organized and capable of managing priorities effectively in a quick moving environment.
- Exhibits an upbeat, positive, servant leader mindset to support a winning environment for all team members.
Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers and developers to create and execute on well written and actionable user stories.
- Lead the development of business, functional, and technical requirement sessions to prepare appropriate documentation such as the preparation of flow charts, wireframes, functional specifications and use cases.
- Be a strong partner with QA team to help support and validate test plans and test scripts, document test results, and report on results while coordinating usage of test environments.
- In partnership with QA’s, lead and coordinate UAT testing for assigned releases with appropriate testing audience.
- Provide operational support for product applications, utilizing our ITConnect and Jira systems, including weekend on-call support on a rotational basis. (3-5 times per year)
- Lead stakeholder working sessions to solicit feedback, propose solutions and ultimately drive to final solution decisions.
- Ensure all work follows the SDLC process, meets SOX and PCI requirements, and maintains all required supporting documentation to ensure all risk and compliance obligations are met.
- Actively participate and be a leader with a positive presence in all agile ceremony meetings.
- Provide communication and training as required to key RPOS stakeholders/users on new system functionality, releases, and fixes.
- For project work still under warranty, troubleshoot system issues and provide data to the user community as requested.
- Assist in release related activities based on sprint work completed within their team.
- Execution of project tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of Professional Business Analyst experience in an Agile/Scrum Software Development environment.
- Effective in requirements gathering and documentation skills.
- Desire and willingness to dive into work areas, take initiative and own outcomes.
- Upbeat and positive attitude to help drive an engaging and collaborative team dynamic.
- Understanding of the QA process and steps required to execute effectively.
- Strong partnering skills with stakeholders to forge relationships built on trust and credibility.
- Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and decisiveness.
- Strong desire to keep learning new things and growing your skills.
- MS Office, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent in job related experience
Preferred Experience
- Experience with MS Development Technologies, including VB6, .Net, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS
- Experience in a ski resort or hospitality industry
- Prior POS or similar software application experience
- Experience working with Jira, Confluence, API’s, SQL
What we offer
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $89,100 - $110,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays. Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
