Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

This role can work remotely from anywhere in the USA with. You must be legally authorized to work in the US.  Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.

What will you do?

The Senior Business Analyst will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to transform the organization and accelerate the execution of Bixal’s mission. This individual will gather, analyze, document, and validate the needs of business stakeholders; manage the corporate KPI dashboard; recommend process and system improvements; manage towards operational excellence and quality; and guide cross-functional teams toward maximum productivity. In addition, this person will increase the efficacy of Bixal operations by building strong working relationships across multiple teams to drive efficiencies across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve Bixal’s internal processes, tools, and systems.
  • Plan and conduct the analysis of complex, cross-functional business needs.
  • Define, document, analyze and prioritize requirements of key business systems, and provide recommendations regarding the evolution of those systems.
  • Engage and build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to inform product objectives amidst broader business goals.
  • Apply Agile methods, human-centered design principles, and product management best practices.
  • Work with user groups to resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes.
  • Translate solution concepts into roadmaps, epics, and user stories.
  • Track status and progress in Jira or similar Agile management tool.
  • Create and maintain system documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create analysis artifacts such as process flows, affinity maps, and priority matrices as needed.
  • Manage Bixal’s KPI dashboard, working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assess the impact of changes to processes and systems and apply change management best practices to operational change/process/policy rollouts.
  • Act as liaison with internal IT and/or outside vendors to support relevant systems.
  • Maintain current understanding of industry standards, trends, and best practices through industry and other professional networks.
  • Promote a culture of quality, excellence, and high standards.
  • Maintain working relationships and a working environment characterized by trust and inclusion.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Senior Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience supporting cross-functional business teams in positions of increasing scope and responsibility.
  • Strong analytical skills, using a combination of tools.
  • Strong process mapping and stakeholder alignment skills.
  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks and human-centered design methods.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Jira or similar collaboration tools, business process mapping software, as well as general business software, with an aptitude to learn new applications.
  • Experience operating in and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong team player that must also be able to work with minimal supervision and in ambiguous situations.
  • Self-starter: desire to solve problems and improve user experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to haves

  • Experience in the following: business analytics, business process improvement, consulting or agency environments, federal contracting.
  • Master’s degree.
