Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Business Analyst will support NCG through growing the access and usage of data to optimize decision making for NCG and its member co-ops. This is an ideal position for data professionals experienced in both the development and analysis of business reporting who are interested in having a direct impact on the success of food co-ops and their communities. Up to 15% business travel required including overnights and weekends. Diverse applicants are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist supervisor in development and coaching of analytical processes, tools, program dashboards, and scorecards needed for NCG to evaluate program health, needs, and opportunities.
  • Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align solutions with business initiatives.
  • Evaluate and fulfill requests for data, information, and reports; leverage existing data and resources; research prospective data sources and partnerships; and make recommendations to business managers across the organization.
  • Develop forecasts for new programs and partnerships, seeking to maximize value for member co-ops and deliver return on investment (ROI) for multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and propose business strategies rooted in data analysis that seek to maximize the value for NCG and member co-ops from participating in programs and partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the value of NCG’s programs and business relationships based on analysis of program data, trends, competitive analysis, and other relevant market information.
Senior Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science or a minimum of 3 years’ experience with business operations or systems development, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing end-user solutions relying on multiple data sources (retailer, manufacturer, distributor, etc.) to support decision-making required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel and Power BI required.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases preferred.
  • Business analysis experience in food retailing preferred.
  • Understanding of grocery industry, retail store operations, office environments and marketing functions preferred.
  • Natural food industry knowledge a plus.

Our office is conveniently located between St. Paul and Minneapolis at 2610 University Ave W. There is free parking and the Green Line Light Rail stops at our building (Westgate Station).
