Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Mastercard’s Global Retail Enablement team works across Mastercard’s business units to define a new approach to global retailers. We are piloting a solution-based narrative that will change how Mastercard works with clients by delivering a unified story of how Mastercard can impact their business. Success in this role will require deep corporate retail experience in a marketing and/or analytics function, an understanding of sales cycles and processes, and the ability to understand sophisticated products and connect them to customer needs. You also must also have a knack for building stories that will resonate with C-level audiences and lead to concrete actions.

Role

In this role, you will be part of a team driving our emerging retail segment forward company-wide, by consistently innovating, problem solving, and partnering across business lines.

This role will support the VP of Global Retail Enablement to define the go to market and operational strategy across Mastercard. Retail is a significant growth area for Mastercard, and this team will define, through specific pilots with global retailers, how to address retailer needs with solutions from across our business units as “One Mastercard”.

The Sr. Business Analyst/Project Manager, Retail Segment Strategy helps build an understanding of current company processes,

products, solutions and narratives, ensuring that Mastercard optimizes our relationships with retailers, as well as considers new products, capabilities and services to meet their needs.

The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering data-driven, customer-focused solutions to customers and must be highly motivated, intellectually curious, comfortable with ambiguity, solutions-oriented and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. Additionally, the ideal candidate is well known for building strong relationships and delivering projects to flawless completion

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Mastercard’s short & long term retail segment strategy and oversee tasks to completion, resolving challenges to keep all activities on scheduled timelines
  • With support, build detailed narratives to support our “One Mastercard” approach to the retail industry
  • Conduct research for priority markets and key accounts
  • Monitor consumer and market trends and help create communications to share this information across teams
  • Contribute to thought leadership around retail trends and customer needs
  • Work with product management and business development teams to create narratives and content
  • Partner with the lead on tracking and reporting of objectives, tasks and deliverables.
