Job Description & Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst, as part of the transformation team, is the liaison between IT and business, works directly with end-user groups and management to elicit user requirements and develop functional specifications for digital solutions. This position will collaborate closely with other analysts, developers and designers to ensure system functionality aligns with business requirements and compliance standards. The Senior Digital Business Analyst performs complex tasks with some oversight such as developing business cases, experience storyboards, personas, digital requirements management and contributing to the system deliverables and user documentation.
What You Will Do
- Lead and facilitate cross departmental teams to transform business requirements into user and functional requirements
- Work with UI/UX designers and other technology teams to document business needs for digital project deliverables
- Write and maintain software requirements specifications that are clear, complete and executable
- Verify technical design specifications meet user requirements
- Develop a variety of models and diagrams including system context models, data flow diagrams and use case diagrams
- Create user scenarios for user acceptance testing
- Develop deep domain knowledge on key applications
- Partner with the project manager to determine project task estimates, deadlines and deliverables, simultaneously working on multiple projects
- Perform gap analysis and define gap closure strategies
- Gain consensus and approval on final requirements
Requirements
What You Will Bring
- 5 – 7 years' related experience
- Experience managing requirements with use cases experience creating software requirements specifications
- Strong experience creating user stories defining business needs for digital solutions
- Highly analytical and detail oriented
- Superior written, listening and verbal communication skills
- Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical project team members
- Extensive experience creating business documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio
What Will Set You Apart
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies particularly in the digital space
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and end users
- Ability to define problems, assemble and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make recommendations
- Working knowledge of Web Technologies
- Proficiency in SQL
