Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

This Senior Business Analyst will be part of the business analysis team in revenue management and is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tools, analytics, system capabilities, and reporting that assist the Revenue Management team in maximizing ticket revenue, enabling better decisions, achieving strategic objectives, and increasing efficiencies.

Job Functions

  • Support/co-lead the business-side on small to medium-scale IT/DW projects during key phases of the project lifecycle including requirements gathering, GUI review/approval, and testing.
  • Support/co-lead the development and enhancement of business tools and processes that improve sailing management, increase efficiencies, support strategic projects and objectives, and enable better decisions.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to Revenue Management senior management team.
  • Queries, analyzes data and maintains reports using approved reporting tools to provide management with requested system driven information.
  • Collaborates across several business areas to streamline and automate daily tasks that improve business effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Supports and mentors junior business analysts providing guidance and insights prior to submittal to manager.
  • Conceptualize business and data models and drive requirements, development, and implementation.
  • Work with various teams to develop a technical architecture that addresses business needs and operational gaps.
Senior Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Business, Economics, Finance or Marketing – Required
  • 2+ years, Revenue management or related analytical experience preferred – Required
  • Strong MS Office knowledge with a focus in Excel
  • Proficiency in analytical tools SAS Enterprise Guide and Tableau
  • SQL knowledge a plus
  • Working knowledge of database structure
  • Deep understanding of revenue management concepts and principles
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities with high level of quality
  • Understanding of various analytical assets across the organization including science modeling, pricing system capabilities, inventory management capabilities, data warehouse infrastructure, and other operational capabilities
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and consider the interactions of various business variables, operational considerations, and data limitations in creating tools that address business challenges and allow users to draw insights, develop deeper understanding, and make better decisions that result in improved performance
  • Able to lead small-to-medium sized projects from inception to completion and collaborate effectively across various business area
  • Ability to understand and define business problems and recommend solutions to leadership in easy-to-understand business terminology is critical to success in this role
  • Self-starter who can progress on projects with minimal guidance from the management team
  • Able to review new reporting, tools, and solutions/recommendations with manager, product management team, and senior-level leadership
