Job Description & Responsibilities
The Data Science team under SunPower Financial Products develops the end-to-end data analytics and statistical models that SunPower needs to offer a proprietary suite of world class financial products. This business serves four main customer types – consumers, dealers, home builders, and fixed income investors – each with its own unique analytical and modeling challenges. These include forecast models, propensity models for optimization of the funnel, personalization models to delight customers, credit underwriting, prepayment, interest rate, as well as portfolio analytics.
SunPower is seeking a Staff Business Analyst to help us accelerate our efforts in delivering our new generation of SunPower’s Financial Products. The Staff Business Analyst reports to the Director of SPF Data Science and will be responsible for building new business intelligence solutions end-to-end. The idea candidate will be passionate about working with database and have expertise to utilize data to build business models, derive business insights and answer business questions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly business analytical model, reports, dashboards, etc.
- Use analytical or statistical rigor to help our business stakeholders solve business problems and make business decisions.
- Learn and understand a broad range of SunPower’s data resources and know how, when and which to use and which not to use.
- Use SQL to develop queries and use Tableau/PowerBI/Excel to visualize data and report.
- Work closely with data and business teams to establish analytical data store and business model store.
- Mentor junior analyst on the team and help them onboard business data, provide guidance on the business analytical models.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analysis, Finance, Data Science or related field.
- 8 years of experience in Business Analysis area or related field.
- Good knowledge of SQL and experience using database in a business environment with large-scale data sets.
- Advanced skills in Excel as well as other data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Ability to draw insights from data quickly and independently, develop and present recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business.
- Experience with statistical analysis and statistical models.
- Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with business teams.

What we offer
Salary Range: $119,520 - $179,280
