Business Analyst, Technology - Job Role & Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Monitor AWS cloud consumption to detect, investigate, and escalate cloud cost anomalies
  • Configuring dynamic cloud cost and usage alerts
  • Tracking and reporting AWS idle account terminations and savings
  • Configuring and managing the cloud financial management tool (CloudHealth)
  • Cloud financial management tool training
  • Reporting cloud cost optimization savings (ICS, GTO, GCIS)
  • Actual and Forecast Variance reporting
  • Analyze cloud cost and usage data to provide actionable insights for cost reduction and tracking improvements
  • Support consumers in understanding their cloud bills
  • Create and maintain internal documentation on FinOps processes
  • Generate financial reports and collaborate with finance and application teams for budget planning and tracking
  • Monthly reporting for GCIS leadership (FinOps)
  • Vendor management (AWS and Presidio)
  • Invoice reconciliation
  • Report automation
  • Process improvement
  • Expansion of current cost optimization, actual vs forecast, and other financial reporting to other areas of shared infrastructure
  • Vendor management
Business Analyst, Technology - Job requirements

Requirements:

  • College degree (Tech or Business preferred but not required)

AND/OR

2+ years in relevant Tech experience in these areas:

  • AWS/Azure/Google Cloud FinOps
  • Software Asset Management - Contracts and Entitlements, configuration, Discovery Tools (Aspera, Flexera, etc.)
  • Telecom Expense Management
  • Corporate Technology Finance

Core Skills to perform in the role:

  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written
  • Strong data skills (Excel, Sequel, Jira etc.)
  • Reporting and presentation skills (Power BI preferred)
