(*) This is a remote position; however, the candidate must reside within 30 miles of one of the following locations: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Portland, ME; and Washington, D.C.

This role is responsible for the investigation, analysis, and conversion of customer needs into effective and sustainable solutions.
The Business Analyst role involves liaising with internal departments as well as
interacting with key partners and third parties to identify opportunities and inefficiencies and to design solutions to address the opportunities.
We are looking for someone who possesses a strong understanding of agile concepts and themes. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated capability in collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to deliver results. Being well-versed in business modeling, requirements definition, and management, as well as excellent written and verbal communication is key
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Incorporates best practices and corporate standards into UI and back-end designs.
- Deliver a positive user experience by keeping design simple and usable despite underlying technical complexities.
- Demonstrate ability to work with other UI-minded individuals (e.g. Product) and makes alternative recommendations as appropriate.
- Bring familiarity with industry standards as well as UI and UX trends for our various platforms
- Independently prioritize backlog according to product vision, market value and ROI.
- Research issues and Service Requests quickly and efficiently, moving necessary items to FR backlog.
- Create release plans for each of the team’s major releases.
- Drive understanding of definition of done (scope) and throughput with stakeholders to assure best decisions are made for both Wex Health and its partners.
- Consistently demonstrate understanding of primary product domain and downstream effects of changes to it.
- Work with other development roles (vertically within team) as well as outside of the development organization (horizontally across org) to independently communicate vision, explain functionality, and answer questions. Considered subject matter expert (SME) of their primary domain area.
- Provide input, reproduce, and brainstorm workarounds to Service Requests as needed.
- Deliver clear and concise requirements for other development roles to consume.
- Create detailed Operational Documents related to features for the organization to leverage.
- Mitigate risk and scope creep through effective requirement gathering leveraging FDDs.
- Work closely with development to ensure designs are secure, performant, and reliable, meeting core technology requirements.
- Interview potential candidates and provides reliable and effective hiring recommendations.
- Facilitate team meetings as needed, including scrum master ceremonies if applicable to the team.
Requirements
Experience You’ll Bring
- 4-6 years of experience designing IT solutions
- Strong experience in understanding current business requirements, gathering and proposing new business requirements, writing use cases, and considering techniques to ensure clear understanding of desired results
- A willingness to create solutions to problems of all sizes and taking calculated risks to achieve results across multiple product offerings
- Effectiveness at working in a distributed team environment
- A working knowledge of Agile Software Development and delivery, along with a Familiarity with web tools for managing work, such as Azure or JIRA
What we offer
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $82,000.00 - $109,000.00
