Business Analyst, Planning - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will be responsible for developing prototype reporting for the planning, distribution, and merchandising community in all brands. The Analyst will help with effective strategies to improve the accuracy and viability of existing basic reports, while also being able to flex into ad-hoc projects for senior management. The Analyst will help link build business processes to reports built into long term solutions to streamline cross functional workflow.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with exposure to business technology. This individual should have excellent excel and data analysis skill.

Responsibilities:

  • Aggregate and simplify data from multiple sources and conduct analysis to allow for more decisive action from the individual teams
  • Regularly create and publish reports with C-suite level visibility as well as maintain long term reporting needs for all levels within the organization
  • Perform business process analysis and own the design and improvement of new and existing processes and tools by working as a link between the Information Technology department and Planning & Allocation team
  • Ability to flex on to larger projects as a leader for the organization when asked
  • Lead the training and deployment of new reporting initiatives as well as identifying future process improvements through the reports life cycle
  • Support ad-hoc operational and strategic initiatives as required
  • Create future looking reporting by pre-identifying the needs of the planning & allocation team with their leaders
Business Analyst, Planning - Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Ability to build strong relationships and effectively contribute on cross-functional teams
  • Experience building reporting within one or more of the following Business Intelligence tool, experience in the following ideal: QlikView/QlikSense, Power BI, SQL.
  • Ability to query directly against the database via SQL and/or R to perform analysis or build ad hoc reports
  • Experience translating and teaching complicated concepts into understandable business language
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience gathering business requirements, process modeling and supporting user acceptance
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail reporting/BI, Data Analyst, replenishment and/or inventory management
