Job Description & Responsibilities
The Business Analyst conducts data analysis, performs decision support, and creates, maintains, and optimizes systems and tools that support the operation. The person in this position will mine data to identify and analyze trends and conditions that open opportunities for improvements. This person will perform ad hoc queries, data extracts, and data analysis to produce actionable information around key decision making. This person will use data analysis, statistical modeling and predictive analysis to provide decision support to Sales, Service, and Operations.
They will also be accountable for managing systems and tools to make data more accessible.
Essential Functions:
- Perform data analysis on data related to customer service. Find hidden trends and relationships in the data.
- Develop timely, innovative, objective analysis which leads to fact-based solutions for strategic objectives of the business. Identify, formulate, and drive problem definition and hypothesis formulation as it relates to the customer service business environment. Synthesize externally syndicated data with internal experience.
- Responsible for delivering insights, findings and analysis based solution options. Effectively communicates logic, key assumptions and technical processes supporting the analytic solutions.
- Responsible for maintenance and optimization of tools that support operations
- Collaborate closely with Service, Sales, and Operations business managers to provide business decision support and analytics to appropriate levels
- Act as subject matter expert and advisor on topic of analytical tools, enterprise data systems and/or analytical methodologies for the company
- Build and create processes and tools to make data more accessible
- Drive accountability for business outcomes through KPI development and monitoring
- Develop quantitative understanding of customer behavior to identify new target markets/customers, as well as upsell and cross-sell opportunities to existing customer base
- Frame market opportunity including addressable market, buying patterns, competitive landscape and technology
- Analyze key trends, insights and risks/opportunities to generate market estimates
Requirements
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
- Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
- Experience in performing data analysis and data management activities
- Knowledge of statistical concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of Bachelors Degree, 5+ years as a financial business analyst
- At least 1 years’ experience in analytics or the healthcare field
- Experience with data extraction, data mining, data acquisition, and data profiling
Additional Helpful Skills:
- Degree in Statistics/analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, or Information Systems/Information Technology
- Six Sigma Green belt/Black belt Certification
- Preferred experience in Analytics/Visualization Tools (Tableau, SQL Server Management Studio, etc.)
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization
- Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel
- Operational/Admin knowledge of CRM tools, specifically Salesforce Work Conditions:
