Business Analyst, Marketing - Job Role & Responsibilities

Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a marketing and business analyst to join the Campaign Performance marketing team. This position is located in our New York, NY office, with two days on-site (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and three days remote.

Job Overview:

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, Campaign Performance, the marketing and business analyst will be responsible for providing the marketing team with insights about campaign trends and factors around the marketing spend. We are looking for a team player with analytical skills that can help us provide more actionable insights to take our marketing to the next level. The analyst will work on projects for the Medical Communications division as well as the Medical Education and Business Media brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine current data on traffic sources and spend related to search engine marketing (SEM) and other sources
  • Oversee tracking of spend details across all paid digital platforms
  • Identify trends and measure success across marketing channels
  • Produce reports that calculate the amount of paid media needed to deliver campaigns. These reports will be updated on a regular basis throughout the month
  • Work with the SEM team to update paid media spend on a weekly basis
  • Produce reports for the SEM team with trends to optimize paid media campaigns to increase conversions and decrease spend
  • Track educational campaigns versus goal and create models to project if campaigns are on pace to deliver
  • Collaborate with the finance team on weekly financial update report as well as the monthly close
  • Assist in forecasting monthly and yearly marketing spend needed
  • Forecasting, trend analysis and optimization projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with management to implement new reporting and systems to improve tracking and reporting
Business Analyst, Marketing - Job requirements

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; marketing, analytics, business, accounting, math, or finance preferred
  • 1-3 years professional experience working with data analysis, budgets, and/or financial management highly desired
  • Experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), preferred
  • Excellent analytic and communication skills required
  • Highly organized, focused, and a very strong attention to detail
  • Experience with digital media or publishing industries is preferred
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • A strong ability to perform independently and proactively while working in a team environment
