Job Description & Responsibilities
The Business IT Analyst position is an exciting opportunity working with external Group Benefits (GB) customers to enable strategic data connections with their Enrollment and HRIS platforms. Working with our external clients, technology platform partners and GB business partners (Operations, Implementation, Sales, Claims, Client Relationship Managers, IT), the Business IT Analyst role will drive consultative conversations to determine the best data solution option for the Customer. The Business IT Analyst is responsible for providing consultative and technical support of Application Program Interface (API) connections to support The Hartford’s Digital Online Evidence of Insurability (EOI) services. The Business IT Analyst will use a variety of skills such as relationship building skills, consultation, troubleshooting, critical thinking and project management skills to prioritize work, respond to multiple deadlines, and balance concurrent tasks successfully in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for customer communications, issue resolution, and day-to-day support related to digital online evidence of insurability services.
- Build strong relationships with external clients, external technology platform partners and internal partners.
- Knowledge of services and products provided in Hartford’s client offerings.
- Provides regular internal and external communication to provide strong team representation and set proper customer expectations.
- Understand Hartford Group Benefit enrollment and EOI services and effectively communicates all offerings to the customer.
- Provide consultative support for complex customer implementations with data exchange options involving API and SSO connections with various enrollment platforms.
- Responsible for integration configuration and testing activities with Customer and HR Tech platforms.
- Collaborates with internal and external technology partners to troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives related to the digital online EOI experience.
- Responsible for performing system testing to support enhancements and initiatives.
- Manage and lead security certificate updates with internal and external partners.
- Having a strong attention to detail is needed to conduct root cause analysis and effectively resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to be available during off-business hours to support security and enhancement updates and testing (rotation based).
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience with Web Service Application Program Interfaces (APIs)
- 3+ years experience with Group Benefit Products
- Familiar with group enrollment processes, including evidence of insurability
- Familiarity or prior experience with HR Tech platforms
- Project management experience, familiar with AGILE methodology
- Ability to maintain and prioritize a complex work load
- Experience with analyzing and resolving technical issues
- Provide ongoing support and collaboration with internal and external business partners
- Has effective written and oral communication skills
- Workday HCM Pro Certified preferred
- 3+ years experience with integration technologies (Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOAPUI, Postman, Java, Javascript, JSON, WSDL, JBOSS, Datapower, Siteminder, Cloud Connect)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent IT Analyst experience

What we offer
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$78,640 - $117,960
