Business Analyst, Future of Work - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Future of Work team is seeking an experienced and innovative Business Analyst to join us to help us leverage the power of data and research to develop strategic frameworks and make informed decisions on how HP can productize these future trends and support our customers. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience in all aspects of business analytics - from collecting, analyzing and transforming data into actionable insights and recommendations in a simple, easy to understand way to help drive a key growth area for HP. Must have business acumen and be able to identify trends and communicate clear insights with stakeholders and executive management for high impact on strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the team to understand program direction and analysis needs
  • Mines data using modern tools and programming languages.
  • Tells stories with the data using visualization tools/methods to demonstrate insight impact.
  • Assures accuracy, integrity, and compliance of data.
  • Analyze data and create summary dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings, insights and business value to the stakeholders, including Director and VP levels.
  • Conduct custom research projects to inform solutions to business problems or identify emerging trends to be addressed.
  • Evaluate secondary research for market and competitive insights
  • Partner with the broader program team to synthesize data sources to ensure insights are holistic.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the program team regarding progress and issue resolution and suggests changes or improvements,
  • Maintains proficiency within the data science domain by keeping up with technology and trend shifts.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, Operational research, Psychology or equivalent.
  • Typically 2-4 years’ experience including graduate or postgraduate research
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Create stories and visualizations to describe and communicate data insights in a clean and simple manner
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with and influence leaders across the organization.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Passion for problem solving and understanding the meaning behind the data
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams
  • Solid project management skills including keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, working with multiple stakeholders, to ensure the delivery of reliable and timely results.
  • Excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail.
  • Exhibit sound judgment and discretion regarding the handling of confidential information.
  • Passion for data science & delivering data driven outcomes.
  • Comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving.
  • Able to navigate and manage competing priorities in a complex and rapidly evolving program.
  • Able to work independently yet collaborate cross-functionally in a global and multicultural environment.
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Business Model experience a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is 107,650.00 - 156,082.50 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
