Job Description & Responsibilities
The Business Analyst is responsible for applying analytical skills and advanced forecasting techniques to predict future sales and present data in report form to various levels of management. Responsible for evaluating historical sales trends, upcoming advertising plans, and incorporates factors such as new stores and seasonal factors to determine the best forecast for assigned product items. The role also requires continuous improvement in developing new analytics, models, and simulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily analysis and execution of forecast for all assigned items using combination of statistical forecasting methods and business intelligence
- Collaborate with other key departments to understand strategic directions and provide business insight when purchasing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Extract and consolidate several data sets into databases to generate reports to maintain forecasts, ad-hoc reports, and dashboards in support of the business
- Review and ensure data accuracy
- Develop forecast strategies for special events, seasonal items, and new item transitions
- Communicate regularly with multiple departments within the organization to identify and resolve supply chain issues
- Research forecast error reports to identify items that require forecast adjustments
- Develop new metrics and reports to track forecast accuracy and sales trends
- Collaborate with teams to build and monitor forecasts for new items
- Analyze impact of advertising, new item introduction, price elasticity, and other factors on an items sale rate
- Participate in project meetings; summarize process and system improvements for successes or concerns
- Prepare item summaries for executive review on sales and forecast patterns

Requirements
Education (Required)
- Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, Economics/Finance, Logistics/Supply Chain, Engineering, or Statistics or related field OR equivalent combination of experience.
Experience (Required)
- 3+ years’ experience in Inventory, Forecasting, or retail management experience
- Must be quantitatively adept and analytical
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications with advanced Excel skills
- Prior experience using statistical packages (SQL, Python, Tableu or similar) for analyzing datasets preferred
- Solid communicative abilities to create presentations and presenting findings
- Capable of managing and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines
- Possess project and problem management skills
- Highly team-oriented in nature and can promote open communication among teams to ensure collaboration.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

What we offer
The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,880 – $103,320 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
