Job Description & Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) team for system design, implementation, and data maintenance as well as handling reporting and ad-hoc requests for various other business areas supported by the FPA team. The position has an impact on the accuracy of the company’s financial planning process which allows leadership to make appropriate financial decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting in the system design and implementation of the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system and Analysis for Office, including process improvement design, system development, coding, testing, consulting, training and documentation
- Providing support and reporting for our financial planning and analysis processes and systems including Operating Cost Plan (OCP) and Payroll Plan
- Ensuring the quality and quantity of data needed to make the most effective use of BPC and Analysis for Office in our strategic and operational decision-making
- Providing company-wide support for corporate strategy management system (SMS) processes and Executive Strategy Manager (ESM) system
- Creating and supporting recurring and ad hoc requests
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or another analytical discipline with at least 2 years relevant business experience or equivalent OR
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline with at least 4 years relevant business experience or equivalent OR
- High School Diploma with at least 6 years relevant business experience or equivalent
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Excel
- Knowledge and understanding of financial, accounting, and general business concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and handle a high volume of work accurately
- Professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Flexibility in a changing environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA code and advanced functionality
- Experience using BPC, Lumira and Analysis for Office
- Knowledge of various business areas and their functions
- Knowledge of forecasting and projection techniques
- Experience with SAP/BW and/or SAP/BPC/BOBJ
- Knowledge of FIN-DSS and DB2 tables
- Knowledge of major Publix systems and the inter-relationships of those systems

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
