Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between the business units, management, and IT staff by developing detailed business requirements, outlining solutions, writing test plans, and leading user acceptance and post-production testing for projects in the Primerica Securities Operations department. Ensure management and the business unit remain informed on progress of the business objectives and have the ability to connect features to those objectives to the approach and ensure digital solution delivers concrete, high business value over time. As necessary, operate in many different applications including but not limited to MS Office, web applications, JIRA, SQL, and IBM Mainframe.

Candidates must live in Metro Atlanta Area.

Hybrid Role: 1 day in our Duluth Office as needed.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility 1Document and manage requirements for digital products and solutions
  • Details of Duties and Responsibilities45%
  • Work directly with product owners, developers, engineers, experience designers, program managers, business & QA analysts and other stakeholders in the business on a daily basis.
  • Document user stories, refining the product backlog and working directly with the Agile Scrum development team to implement high priority backlog features based on the product roadmap.
  • Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by the development teams
  • Facilitate requirements sessions to define the product features. Lead product demos with stakeholders to confirm requirements are implemented correctly.
  • Responsibility 2Define Product Vision Requirements

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, executives and team members to define the requirements for the product vision and a strategy to implement the vision through the development and deployment of digital features and solutions.
  • Responsibility 3Maintain Progress and Inform Management

  • Work with the development team and others to develop digital solutions, supporting processes and other assets (e.g., communications, training materials) to support the initial launch and ongoing maintenance of assigned digital solutions.
  • Mitigate roadblocks impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.
  • Track and document the progress of the work and inform management of such.
  • Responsibility 4Improve digital products through user feedback and metrics to drive business value

  • Document business objectives and key results. Implement the necessary tracking and metrics to measure progress towards desired business objectives. Use metrics as input into feature and enhancement prioritization. Utilize data analytics tools as necessary to monitor and report product analytics.
  • Implement processes and tools to capture user feedback. Leverage user feedback as input towards future prioritization.
  • Report business metrics and user feedback to stakeholders and executives.
  • Responsibility 5Coordinate and provide ongoing support

  • Support the product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product
  • Provide training and support to end users, support team members, marketing and other areas that will participate in the launch and ongoing support for digital products.

Business Analyst - Job requirements

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (a minimum of three years of as a business analysis or related field)
  • Computer science, engineering, product management, marketing, business, or similar area of study.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience
  • 2+ years experience in product development, preferably working as a Business Analyst
  • Experience working as part of an agile development team using agile Scrum, Kanban or similar development methods to deliver frequent feature sets to end users.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles Understanding of business value around feature/functions Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder and user needs.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Agile development processes
  • Jira, Smartsheet or similar agile project management tool.
  • Business Analyst Certificate (PBA) (desired)
  • Data analytics reporting using MS Excel, Power BI and/or similar tools Confluence.
  • Designs and wireframes using PowerPoint, Adobe or other similar tools.
  • User feedback processes and applications such as Qualtrics.
