Business Analyst, ERP - Job Role & Responsibilities

As an ERP Business Analyst, you will work as a Product Owner and collaborate with a cross functional team on an ERP Software Solution.

The Product Owner works closely with the cross functional team to develop and translate a vision for the product. The ERP Business Analyst works with executive management, customers, development teams to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met with each product release. Responsible for helping to shape the roadmap and oversee the execution of the roadmap. This includes defining requirements, writing user stories, prioritizing initiatives, and driving scalability and other investments for the product.

What You'll Do

  • Provide blend of business and technical expertise in building new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software's business requirements and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
  • Work closely with IT team & various departments to identify the best migration plan for various internal applications
  • Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
  • Assist production system issues as they arise and manage the process through to problem resolution.
Business Analyst, ERP - Job requirements

Position Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science or Computer Engineering Technology
  • At least 3 - 5 years' experience with ERP system technology, and deep business understanding of ERP domains (Accounting, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Human Resources, Inventory Management, Sale, Purchasing, etc
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have understanding of modern coding methods and best practices.
  • Experience working with Oracle database structures and familiarity with Pl/SQL features, Packages, Functions and Procedures.
  • Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and to be able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff.
  • Keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Characteristics

  • Sequel/SQL experience, any ERP (SAP, Sage, etc.)
  • Implemented solutions in ERP system, work orders, shop operations, supply chain, etc. Writing Oracle/SQL scripts, databases.
  • Ideally 3+ years experience in ERP space, 5 years IT overall
  • Manufacturing environment experience or MRO facility preferred.
