Business Analyst, eComm Tools - Job Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our eCommerce Tools and Product Ecosystem teams. The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our business outcomes and our technical solutions. This position involves collaborating closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into actionable user stories, and ensuring the seamless integration of these requirements into our software development process. The Business Analyst will also conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions, identify opportunities for process improvement, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality ecommerce solutions. This work builds and maintains the tools that Fingerhut Marketing uses to provide high-quality, personalized experiences to our customers.

This role is based out of our Eden Prairie, MN head office within our hybrid environment that has team members come into the office 3 days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Product Owner to represent and drive an outcome-driven vision for the team
  • Transform high-level requirements into detailed user stories, ensuring they are clear, concise, and well-understood by the development team
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making and help in defining requirements
  • Act as a communication bridge between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring alignment and understanding of project goals
  • Conduct regular meetings, such as backlog grooming sessions and sprint planning, to refine requirements and prioritize work
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product or domain to provide valuable insights and make informed decisions
  • Collect and analyze relevant metrics to measure the success of the project and make data-driven decisions
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, user stories, and any changes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Keep stakeholders informed about project progress, risks, issues, and gather their feedback and input
  • Effectively demonstrate functionality to stakeholders to ensure business vision was implemented
  • Other duties as assigned
Business Analyst, eComm Tools - Job requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Business Analyst experience in software development or ecommerce
  • Clear verbal and writing skills, including well-formed user stories
  • Experience and competence using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and involvement with agile planning, execution, and collaboration tools (working with JIRA or other issue tracking tools)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt within a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Confidence to dive in and learn new solutions and processes without much assistance or guidance
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical team members
  • Experience with Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Marketing Workflow, or Product Information Management processes or software
  • Curiosity to understand not only what needs to be done, but also what is possible.
