Business Analyst, Division - Job Role & Responsibilities

Incumbent can be located anywhere within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Position requires availability Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with the availability to work additional hours as needed.

SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the assigned manager, the Division Business Analyst 2 is tasked with understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of these changes, capturing, analyzing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with all relevant stakeholders. The incumbent will oversee and/or participate on projects to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished. Projects will vary and are designed to offer continuous improvements to streamline and document procedures, resolve problems, act as primary point for data management and reporting, plus provide potential cost savings and enhance customer service. The incumbent requires the ability to utilize available resources, conduct research, make decisions, and resolve problems and may serve as a resource to peers, team members, and division personnel throughout the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Initiate and lead new projects as directed by management, prioritize initiatives, and develop/implement solutions that deliver value.
  • Facilitate sessions to elicit and proactively draw out business requirements from stakeholders using a variety of methods: interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis.
  • Identify potential risk and conflicting requirements, escalating as appropriate.
  • Implement business analytical techniques for analyzing information needs and functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Prepare requirement specifications according to standard templates and documents all changes to requirements throughout the life of the project.
  • Create workflow diagrams, process maps, and data flows to document both current and future business to align with project results.
  • Continuously seek ways to analyze operational issues and provide recommendations to improve business efficiencies and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate and/or manage all or parts of assigned projects to ensure timely completion of goals and objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between the internal and external business partners, project managers, technology teams and support teams.
  • May attend various groups or committees as it pertains to the business unit.
  • Assist in communicating expectations of the solutions being described to the internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, the impact of change.
  • Serve as a mentor to Division Business Analyst 1 team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the areas of regulation/compliance, products/services, systems and technologies, bank/mortgage structure/organization and account documentation by attending continuing education training, both internal and external.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes, but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proven experience in problem solving required.
  • Project management experience preferred
