Business Analyst, Digital Transformation - Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst at Ambit, you will play a crucial role in our digital transformation projects for pharmaceutical clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, IT professionals, and client stakeholders, to analyze business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic solutions. Your insights will help shape the future of our clients' systems and operations, ensuring they remain competitive in an ever-evolving market.

As the DT Business Analyst, you will -

  • Perform Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
  • Conduct detailed analysis of client business processes and workflows.
  • Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and observations.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for data, analytics, and technology solutions.
  • Support Product and Project Management:
  • Assist project managers in developing project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Monitor project progress and report on key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.
  • Conduct Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and present reports, dashboards, and visualizations to stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations based on data-driven analysis to support decision-making.
  • Engage Client Stakeholders:
  • Serve as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate clients on new systems and processes.
  • Participate in Solution Design & Implementation:
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to design and implement digital solutions.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct/support user acceptance testing (UAT) and support the deployment of new systems.
Business Analyst, Digital Transformation - Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. CBAP, PMI, Agile or other certifications are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within a management or life sciences consulting firm with specific understanding of commercial operations across the commercial value chain including marketing, sales, market access, trade, medical affairs, patient services, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Digital Transformation programs/projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in data management, commercial operations, and analytics within the pharmaceutical/biopharma/biotech sector.
  • Familiarity with digital technologies, trends, and best practices, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience and proficiency in handling primary and secondary data sources such as claims data (835/837), EMR/EHR, EDI 852/867, sell-in data, Rx dispense, formulary data, as well as digital and sales force execution data.
  • Life sciences-specific knowledge in master data management for entities such as patient, HCP, HCO, and MCO; as well as reference data management including medical codes such as ICD, CPT, HCPCS, NDC, etc. and clinical/medical taxonomies such as HPO and SNOMED CT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and software (e.g., JIRA, MS Office, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic startup environment.
