Job Description & Responsibilities
We have an exciting new opportunity to join Symetra as a Business Analyst, supporting our Digital Communications initiative.
As a Business Analyst, you’ll be a key member of the team that supports our digital communications capabilities. In this role you will be responsible for collaborating with partners, capturing requirements, and facilitating testing to ensure successful implementation of capabilities across the enterprise.
What you will do
- Establish relationships with business partners including users, project team and management at all levels
- Handle changes to requirements and provide basic assessment of impact to scope of projects.
- Accurately detail the requirements so that the collaborators understand and can review.
- Validate requirements to meet partner needs.
- Have a good understanding of business functions such as Service and Operations, Sales and Distribution, Compliance etc.
- Leverage basic models to provide insight into opportunities for improvement.
- Assess proposed solutions to find fits the business need, identify gaps in solution, and determine vital workarounds or changes to the solution.
- Analyze and document test plans, test cases and results
Requirements
Who you are
- Analytical thinking and a problem solver
- Ability to take basic to moderately sophisticated information that is abstract and ambiguous and prioritize into relevant facts for business partners to understand.
- Understanding how a system change affects the whole system itself and all downstream systems, interfaces, workflow and processes
- Ability to come up with new insights and applying these to resolve existing problems or needs.
- Ability to identify moderately complex problems and can help identify possible solutions to ensure the objectives of business partners are met.
- Understanding of business environment, operations, process and practices relating to: basic business functions and operations, organization structure, regulatory, compliance and governance frameworks
- Understanding of company products and business model, as well as some industry product knowledge.
- Good understanding of how products are supported by multiple systems and how simple changes in the product impact those systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust according to the audience
- Ability to facilitate large and small group sessions ensuring success through preparation and attention to detail.
- Ability to look holistically across all systems, interfaces, extracts and processes to determine potential impacts.

Compensation
Salary Range: $56,600 - $94,300 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.
