Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Join Aprio's Information Technologyteam and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio, LLP is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Business Analyst to join their dynamic team.

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to help us drive our digital transformation and provide exceptional service to our clients and employees. This team member will serve as a liaison between staff, IT, and Development departments to help define critical processes and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work with all levels of the organization to introduce and implement changes in business processes and application practices affecting clients, to include proposing system-related business processes and technologies
  • Performs planning and analysis of new, enhanced, improved or revised existing, information systems or related technologies, strategies, standards, policy and procedures, continuous improvement, and budget for assigned projects.
  • Stays abreast of current and upcoming technology and software offerings in the industry, understanding their abilities while assessing their potential value and application in the tax practice, with a focus on creating efficiencies and increasing automation.
  • Continuous communication with tax practice leadership on new technologies and concepts while providing recommendations for software testing
  • Develop and manage a charter and timeline for testing, evaluating, and implementation of new technology
  • Serve in project manager role for key departmental initiatives
  • Analyzes audiences and develops effective communication strategies and drive the organizational change / ensure adoption
  • Own the end-to-end process change and oversee / deliver socialization and training
  • Work with teams to drive continuous improvement mindset.
  • Monitors compliance with policy, procedures and guidelines of the Department
  • Develop test procedures to ensure existing system software and modifications meet user specifications.
  • Apply system analysis techniques and procedures including interviewing various resources to gather required information, analyzing and documenting requirements.
  • Support development of software or system functional specifications that allow for the successful development/configuration of select Automation software solutions.
  • Will work in the evaluation of new technologies and platforms
  • Be the departmental contact person for internal DevOps team, IT and tool vendors
  • Use data analysis techniques to gain insights from various sources
  • Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevOps initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with Tax Software required. (CCH Axcess Tax, GoSystem Tax, UltraTax CS, Lacerte Tax, Caseware, CCH Engagement, Workpapers CS)
  • Keen attention to detail, Problem Solving and strong Analytical Skills
  • 2 years of experience with documenting processes and practices, often in accepted project methodology artifacts, while effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, priorities, projects, and deadlines
  • Understanding of Project Management fundamentals
  • Expert Knowledge of Excel
  • Mid-level knowledge and experience around database principles and computer science fundamentals
  • Understanding of APIs (Application Programming Interface)

Preferred Skills

  • Consulting experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience with working within Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI and Power Automate
  • Knowledge of DAX and SSIS
  • Knowledge and / or basic development experience in any of the following technologies: Python, Visual Basic, Java, Objective C, C , .NET

The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
