Job Description & Responsibilities
As a Data Product Business Analyst, you will join our Product team supporting strategic platform enhancements to drive scalability, efficiency, and risk reduction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and design teams, deep-diving into product, process, and technical structures to ensure that business requirements are well-defined, tracked, and executed. Your ability to define and document solutions effectively will be critical in delivering high-quality product features that align with business goals. This role offers the unique opportunity to directly impact our ability to scale our product offerings to a more prominent partner base. Additionally, you will be instrumental in optimizing data workflows, defining requirements for data models, and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure that our product evolves to meet current and future business needs.
What You’ll Do
- Drive data management activities focusing on data definitions, data sourcing strategies, and data models
- Partner with IT and data engineering teams to design and implement data models that meet product needs
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to document and analyze data workflows, processes, and technical structures
- Develop detailed process flows, data mappings, and system integrations to support product objectives and platform migrations
- Document data requirements for each workstream, translating them into actionable user stories, functional specifications, and process workflows
- Leverage Data Analytics to assess success metrics, identify trends, and recommend process improvements aligned with strategic objectives
- Write test cases to ensure development aligns with expected functionality and can be validated
- Support product owners in defining product roadmaps, prioritizing workstreams, and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet key milestones
- Assist in production releases by working closely with developers, testers, and product managers to ensure that all functional releases align with acceptance criteria
- Participate in data quality governance, controls, and exceptions remediation process
Requirements
What You’ll Need
- 3-5 years of experience as a Data Business Analyst or similar role, strongly focusing on data migrations, data modeling, or analytics-driven product work
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
- Proven experience with data migration projects and familiarity with ETL processes
- Strong analytical skills, perform data modeling and analysis to identify trends, detect anomalies, and validate assumptions, using insights to inform strategic decisions
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, able to identify areas of opportunity for scale efficiency
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document requirements, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate progress to Product Owners
- Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage timelines, documentation, and deliverables across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Familiarity with analysis tools such as SQL, ETL tools, Google Analytics, JIRA, Confluence, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar tools to manage analysis deliverables
- Preferred certifications in business analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or data analytics (Google Data Analytics, Microsoft DA-100)

Compensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role. These are identified and determined throughout your interviewing experience.
Please note: this role is expected to come into our office on a cadence set by the Hiring Manager/Team.
New York, NY (Hybrid) Pay Range
$130,000—$160,000 USD
