Job Description & Responsibilities
Aon is looking for a New Business Analyst II in St. Louis, MO
This is a hybrid role working in the St. Louis office 3 days per week.
Purpose of Role: The U.S. Commercial Risk and Health New Business Analyst (“NBA”) will work primarily with U.S. Commercial Risk and Health Sales to operationalize a growth strategy and measure new business activities in U.S. Commercial Risk and Health office(s). The NBA will report directly to the North American Sales Operations team with secondary reporting requirements to the local Resident Sales Director (“RSD”). The directive of the NBA is to operationalize a process and drive a strategy that contributes to measurable growth across all Aon Solution Lines with a focus on Commercial Risk and Health Solutions.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1a. New Business Implementation & Support
- Participate in National, Regional and working group calls with National Sales Operations and other New Business Analysts
- Partner with RSD to identify the appropriate new business initiatives to activate in the local office, primarily with the Producers and Account Executives (Sales Team)
- Participate in meetings with the Sales Team to develop prospect identification and client penetration strategies
- Develop and distribute revenue, client acquisition activity, and benchmark reports (e.g., Local Market Analytics, Heat Map) that provide regional and local leadership with the supportive analytics need to implement strategic goals
- Provide strategic guidance and operational support to local leadership in the adoption and implementation of U.S. Commercial Risk and Health Sales strategy; to include (not limited to) strategic valuation, collateral and implementation timeline
- Provide strategic guidance and operational support to U.S. Retail Marketing and U.S. Sales Operations to ensure all leads are assigned. Follow up on assigned leads to determine opportunity status
- At the direction of the Sales Team, research prospects and clients, using analyst reports, SEC reports, Yahoo! Finance, and related sources of information, to identify prospect- and client-specific risk profile information
- Identify with the Sales Team ideal prospects and clients for marketing campaigns; working cooperatively with Marketing assets to populate Aon Connect (“AC”)
- Execute national sales initiatives at the local level; including, industry, product, cross-sell and named account strategies as directed by U.S. Commercial Risk and Health Sales
- Coordinate annual business planning and goal allocation process with local office leadership and National Sales Effectiveness team
1b. New Business Revenue Tracking & Measuring
- Partner with Regional and National Sales Operations to build and deliver consistent pipeline and financial reporting
- Prepare revenue and pipeline composition analytics for office sales meeting and monthly forecast calls
- Develop and maintain pipeline composition reporting functionalities that reflect forecasted and ultimately recognized sales revenue, working closely with U.S. Finance to maintain accurate revenue pipelines to reconcile opportunity valuation
- Collaborate with sales and marketing colleagues to review marketing campaign effectiveness reports and recommend actions locally that will improve effectiveness
- Collaborate with local marketers to ensure delivery of local events
- Ensure the Office and Individual Sales Plan, including Quarterly Producer Assessment reporting is completed on time and accurate
- Provide operational assistance and strategic analysis to Sales Team and Pursuit and Creative Team (PaC) for prospect and client presentations
- Provide operational support to the RSD and RMD by providing revenue analyses to include valuation of individual and office performance to goal, office sales and marketing statistics (e.g., Client Promise results, prospecting Activity, wins and losses, deal size, and sales cycle in general and by product and industry, using AC, the Sales Effectiveness Report), resource identification, and follow-up communication, including any resource documents.
1c. Aon Connect Management and Administration
- Serve as the office AC expert for support of AC users, including:
- AC training and licensing of new producer and AE hires and ongoing training of the Sales Team including training on Client Promise and Jeopardy reporting in AC as needed
- Coordinate with AC leadership on AC enhancement requests and functional issues
- Participate in AC national support team

- Strong ability to work closely with various cross functional groups, specifically with the Director of Marketing, Regional/Resident Sales Director, RMD, Producers and AEs in the office, as well as with Industry/Practice Leaders and National Sales Effectiveness Team
- A creative thinker who brings innovative ideas, new perspectives and a wealth of enthusiasm

- Process-oriented person who can provide a clear, complete analysis that support sales efforts, resulting in revenue win for the company
- Qualifications include bachelor’s degree in Business or related major, excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.). Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM) and marketing automation systems (i.e. Eloqua)
- A minimum of 2+ years of research experience or related formal training.

What we offer
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 to $80,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] [production incentives] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
