Job Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst (Cloud FinOps) to join our dynamic team. This role is best suited for a decisive analytical problem solver with a desire to play a pivotal role in optimizing infrastructure by deciphering business requirements, conducting insightful data analyses, accurately forecasting spend, and fostering effective communication between technical and non-technical teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities with an interest in deriving actionable insights from complex data sets, while also clearly and effectively presenting the insights to partners! The Business Analyst will report to the Sr. Director Capacity & Planning, serving as a strategic partner responsible for ensuring proactive financial management of infrastructure through data-driven insights that support the overall efficiency and success of our cloud financial operations (Cloud FinOps) program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to analyze and interpret business requirements related to infrastructure strategy, encompassing a variety of cloud and on-prem services.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques to assess spending patterns, identify cost drivers, and propose optimization strategies.
- Employ advanced analytical skills to assess large datasets, identify trends, and provide data-driven insights for managing and optimizing spend.
- Work with business units to uncover opportunities for improving cost-effectiveness and efficiency in resource utilization.
- Recommend solutions and configurations that align with business goals, emphasizing cost considerations and efficiency.
- Ensure reporting and process designs are informed by analytical insights, with a focus on optimizing overall spending and resource utilization.
- Effectively communicate analytical findings to stakeholders, facilitating a clear understanding of insights and spend management strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating analytical insights into actionable business strategies.
- Implement analytical monitoring tools and processes to track spending, providing valuable insights into efficiency and areas for improvement.
- Proactively identify and address potential cost overruns through data-driven analyses and forecasting.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Business Analyst with a strong emphasis on analytical skills and cloud spend management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in the context of cloud spending analysis.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient in using reporting tools for data visualization and presentation!
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring precision in data analysis.
- Strong requirements management experience (process) and proficiency in requirements gathering, documentation, and prioritization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Console, etc) and optimizing overall cloud spending.
- Certification in FinOps, is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud cost management tools (e.g.CloudHealth, Cloudability, etc) and techniques (FinOps Foundation principles).
- Ability to inspire change and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
What we offer
Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
