Job Description & Responsibilities
Job Description
Under direct and indirect supervision of the Trauma Program Director, coordinates, collects and analyzes trauma data for the registry.
- Collects and abstracts all mandated clinical indices from injury time hospital course.
- Inputs all defined data indicators into the trauma base
- Skilled in use of multiple patient care data bases
- Maintains technical needs of the data base, including updates of software and as well as additions to software needs.
- Insures that policies and procedures relating to the trauma registry are maintained and updated
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university; or
- A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements for software applications development and implementation in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
- A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
- Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.
Department Preferences
- CSTR Certification
- CAISS Certificate
- Excel proficiency
- Minimum 1-year Trauma Database experience (NTRACS, Trauma One, Lancet, etc.).
- AAAM AIS 08 and/or 15 training
- ICD-10 Course within past 5 years
- Trauma Registry course (ATS or equivalent) completion
