Job Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking for an Associate level Business Analyst with 3-7 years’ experience working with middle back office. The IT Business Analyst supports strategic initiatives across all departments with expertise in system migration projects, as well as ad-hoc business needs (application, automation, production support, UAT management).
Reporting to the BA Lead, this role works within the project team to help implementation and execution of projects throughout their lifecycles. This position entails User Acceptance Test coordination between internal clients and vendors, writing requirement documents, data analysis in SQL, report creation, creating trade/system flow diagrams, PowerPoints. Projects assigned could be on an enterprise level, Front to Back and may also be required to work with third-parties. You will also be expected to work with cross-functional teams to understand the business in order to apply effective technical solutions for different work streams. It is also important for this individual to understand the business from Front Office to Back Office perspective in order to draw up trade and system flow diagrams and devise their own solutions.
Role Objectives
- Collaborate with technology, client-side, and vendor teams across different business workstreams
- Gather and analyze business requirements in order to transform and deliver client business needs into system solutions
- Develop deep understanding client-side needs and translating business requirements to technical specifications and documents
- Provide key inputs for application design process in development phase
- Coordinate UAT, facilitate developing quality test scripts and executing them
- Produce high quality trade/system workflow diagrams, documents, and ppt presentations
Requirements
Qualifications And Skills
- 3-7 years of professional experience, preferably with experience in the financial services industry
- Excellent communication/writing skill, ability to present complex information and write functional/technical specifications and use cases
- Good understanding of Front/Middle/Back office applications and workflows for settlements, trading, and reporting
- Technical understanding of application design and SDLC life cycle
- Good understanding of finance and able to adapt quickly to business technology landscape
- Good understanding of broker dealer/investment banking products (equities, fixed income, etc.) and operational knowledge is a plus
What we offer
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $86,000.00 and $143,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
