Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Remote flexibility: 5 days per week on-site during first 90 days; after training period, one day remote work, 4 days on-site

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst with project management capabilities. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and understanding business needs, translating them into actionable requirements, and effectively managing projects from initiation to successful completion. Your ability to bridge the gap between business and technology, coupled with your project management expertise, will contribute to the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of project objectives.
  • Conduct thorough business process analysis and identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Translate business needs into clear and concise functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and other relevant artifacts.

Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop and execute project plans, defining project scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, provide progress reports, and communicate project updates to stakeholders and senior management.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with business users, subject matter experts, and technical teams to ensure alignment and understanding of project objectives and requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication between various stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving conflicts as they arise.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on analysis and industry best practices.

Solution Design and Evaluation:

  • Work closely with development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions and conduct feasibility studies to assess their viability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform impact analysis, assess risks, and identify potential areas of improvement during the solution design phase.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, process flows, and user manuals.
  • Create and maintain project-related artifacts, such as project charters, risk registers, issue logs, and change control documentation.
  • Generate regular reports on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators, providing insights to stakeholders and management.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on project management and delivering successful projects.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficient in project management techniques, including planning, monitoring, and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and propose practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP) and project management (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
