Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Data/Business Analyst proactively participates in designing, developing, and evolving high quality, usable and extensible BI solutions and interpretation of results using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining. This individual will be responsible for creating end-to-end analytics solutions, or updating existing ones, to provide critical business information that services business needs.

In addition, they will perform all aspects of analysis and report development ranging from requirement gathering, data acquisition, to creating advanced dashboards while demonstrating the ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently writes and delivers SQL queries to create high-quality data sets or data marts and executes assigned data requests within scope, quality, and targeted timeline for delivery.
  • Ability to lead end-to-end data warehouse/data lake solutions, including requirements gathering, sourcing, transformation, and reporting.
  • Dive deep into complex business problems and provide insights to business units to create innovative solutions.
  • Proven results-oriented analysis that helped support positive change in the business strategy.
  • Provide actionable insights to the business through data analytics and synthesize results into succinct presentations that aid senior management in decision making.
  • Self-directed individual who operates with passion, urgency, focus, and discipline.
  • Detailed-oriented with a knack for precision and accuracy in numbers and analyses.
  • Adaptable team player with problem solving skills that are unparalleled.
  • Partner with Performance Excellence team to document all Project/Process work for sustainability and minimized training.

  • Adheres to and promotes proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices and company policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Intelligence Manager to define project objectives, priorities, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the overall data analytics strategy.
  • Assist the Business Intelligence Manager in overseeing and coordinating data analysis projects, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality standards, and project milestones.
  • Support the Data Analyst Manager in providing guidance, mentorship, and training to junior data analysts, fostering their professional growth, and ensuring the development of analytical skills within the team.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the data analytics workflow, working closely with the Business Intelligence Manager to implement enhancements and optimize data analysis processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to define user requirements, design and develop solutions, and prepare documents including Mapping Documents and detailed design/technical specifications.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data visualization dashboards and reports, working closely with the Business Intelligence Manager to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and accessibility of data insights for key stakeholders.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Manager in conducting in-depth data analysis, utilizing statistical methods and data mining techniques to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for business decision-making.
  • Assist the Business Intelligence Manager in monitoring industry trends and advancements in data analytics, keeping abreast of new tools, techniques, and methodologies to continuously improve the team's capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence Manager in developing and maintaining documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines for data analysis projects, ensuring knowledge transfer and consistency across the team.
  • Enthusiastically perform other duties as assigned and as needed to support your team.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • SQL/VBA or other relevant statistical tools for data mining and predictive analytics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • 3+ years of corporate experience analyzing complex data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendation
  • Experience with SQL Server, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Stored Procedures/Functions, Snowflake, or other reporting tools
  • Corporate experience building and maintaining advanced Dashboards/Report/Data Sources with data visualization tools
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • 4+ years of ETL data warehouse experience

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to research and devise innovative solutions within using Microsoft Ecosystem
  • 6+ Years of ETL experience/Data warehouse experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Tissue Banking
  • Advanced SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, Data Warehousing, ETL
  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP
  • Power BI, ETL, Power BI, DAX, M
  • Data Quality Assurance (QA).
  • 6+ ETL Experience preferred.
