Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Enterprise Digital Team is responsible for unifying the digital voice of S&P Global. The team works closely with all of our divisions to create a unified web platform for all content creators which serves as the public face of the company.

We are seeking a Business Analyst, Agile Web Products, who will be responsible for partnering with Technology teams to define the end-to-end business requirements of web technology rollouts and enhancements. This role is vital as it contributes to the intricate details of each division’s business goals and translates them into clear requirements that create engaging and effective websites via a strong and consistent internal content creation experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Point-of-Contact for multiple development teams to translate complex business needs into deliverable User Stories on behalf of stakeholders
  • Act as the “voice of the business” for multiple Scrum teams working on a common product backlog, creating comprehensive web designs in partnership with stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Design, Branding) and Technology teams (Development, QA, Operations)
  • Lead refinement conversations with both parties, providing suggestions and capturing feedback to document clear requirements in resulting User Stories, including technical details and Acceptance Criteria to meet the Definition of Ready
  • Plan and execute extensive User Acceptance Testing to ensure successful releases of new functionality, identifying and tracking any defects to resolution
  • Participate in the Agile development process with scrum teams to innovate and deliver robust capabilities and web products
  • Develop strong working relationships and provide regular communication with all divisional stakeholders (Tech and Business) to keep them appraised of project progress
Business Analyst - Job requirements

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in business analysis, software engineering, capability design, IT consulting or other relevant experience (Experience in B2B industries is desirable)
  • 1+ years of experience with rapid and iterative software development methodologies (Agile/SAFe preferred)
  • Sufficient technical acumen and knowledge of web content management systems (e.g. Adobe Experience Manager) as to execute changes to existing web properties
  • Basic knowledge of Agile work tracking systems such as Azure DevOps or JIRA
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail - ability to engineer solutions and crystallize technical requirements from business needs

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preference of engineering, computer science, or similar technical field
  • Sense of urgency and enthusiasm in developing a best-in-class product
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to help fairly and rationally solve conflicting priorities and ideas
What we offer at S&P Global

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $66,344 to $116,411. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
