Job Description & Responsibilities
Moelis & Company’s Business Management team is seeking an Analyst to join in the New York office. The Business Management function directs the firm’s strategy & development, franchise management, banker resource management, reporting & analysis, and business data management. The Analyst will report to the Managing Director of Business Management supporting the Capital Structure Advisory team and the US Business Management team. The Analyst will be responsible for working on strategic business performance projects and initiatives across multiple areas of focus including: franchise & pipeline management, business strategy & development, banker performance, talent management, data administration and reporting & analysis. The role will require extensive interaction with bankers and management, and other functions across the Firm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in prospecting new business opportunities, and maintaining internal materials/dashboards that track business development efforts
- Provide support for a full range of requests leveraging Bloomberg for live mandates and pitches
- Capital Structure Advisory related and ad-hoc research (both equity and debt) for live mandates
- Build distressed company profiles consisting of a company’s capital structure, debt history, majority holders and performance.
- Maintain weekly internal presentations and assist in improving structure of internal reports
- Lead/participate in internal meetings
- Maintenance of multiple databases in Excel and Salesforce such as but not limited to Exchange Offers and Fee Comparisons
- Track and forecast revenue for live mandates
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in a business-related major
- 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred
- Strong technical/computer and relevant market data services skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Salesforce, Bloomberg, Dealogic, and PitchBook is a plus)
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills (i.e., financial and data analysis)
- Strong organizational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, able to interact with bankers and employees of all levels across the firm
What we offer
Expected Salary Range: USD $75,000 - $85,000
