Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities
  • Supports the managed care health plan operations by leveraging their expertise with ZeOmega's Jiva platform.
  • Analyzes business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical staff, and management, to ensure the Jiva system meets organizational needs and regulatory requirements.

System Analysis and Support:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all Jiva-related queries and issues.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of the Jiva system to understand current functionality and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Configure and customize the Jiva platform to meet the specific needs of the managed care health plan.

Business Process Improvement:

  • Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational processes using Jiva.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all business processes and system configurations.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage projects related to Jiva system enhancements and updates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Training and Support:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on the use of the Jiva platform.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to system users.
  • Ensure all users are adequately trained and proficient in using Jiva.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the Jiva system.
  • Develop and generate reports to provide insights into system usage and performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that the Jiva system complies with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Keep abreast of changes in healthcare regulations and assess their impact on the system.
  • Implement necessary updates and changes to maintain compliance.

General

  • Understands business process management and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific process, control, and reporting requirements
  • Identifying areas for process improvement, and developing/ implementing solution
  • Leading review and writing descriptions of business needs and business program functions, including creating process and data flow diagrams, workflow diagrams, test scripts, training curriculum, and quality assurance/audit procedures.
  • Identifying opportunities for workflow optimization, efficiency and automation
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings
  • Performing requirements analysis
  • Documenting and communicating the results
  • Recommend alert and reporting requirements
  • Leverage technical skills, coupled with business intelligence and a deep understanding of the customer's needs to transform information into application and operational requirements
  • Effectively communicating insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports
  • Ensuring options are evaluated and presented to meet business needs and requirements
  • Performing user acceptance testing
  • Basic knowledge in generating process documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
  • Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures
  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders, business units, technology teams and support teams
  • Managing competing resources and priorities
  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects

Position Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team
  • Experience with healthcare regulatory requirements and standards
  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP) or Project Management (PMP)

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business System Analyst in a managed care or health plan environment
  • Extensive experience with ZeOmega's Jiva platform
  • Proven track record of managing and implementing system changes and improvements

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit in a chair for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to speak so that you are able to accurately express ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Must be able to hear, understand, and/or distinguish speech and/or other sounds in person, via telephone/cellular phone, and/or electronic devices
  • Must have ample dexterity which allows entering of text and/or data into a computer or other electronic device by means of a keyboard and/or mouse
  • Must be able to clearly use sight so that you are able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and/or assess data or other information types
  • Must be able to fluently communicate both verbally and in writing using the English language

Time Zone: Eastern or Central

  • Expected Hours of Work: Friday 8 am – 5 pm; with ability to adjust to Client schedules as needed
