Job Description & Responsibilities
This Business Analyst role supports the Operational Accounting team in our Finance Organization at Equitable. The primary focus of this position is to engage with members of various Finance, Business and IT teams to monitor and review the admin system processes as well as provide support for product and sales compensation testing, and resolve issues with the daily and monthly accounting feeds from these systems. To be successful in this role, the individual is required to be familiar with all of the administrative systems that contain policy transactions, and how each of those transactions interface with our general ledger system. It’s critical that the resource is capable of interpreting the translation languages and is highly experienced in querying various data sources and compiling findings that are auditable.
- Perform ad hoc research and document findings. Be able to communicate those findings internally and externally
- Represent policy accounting team in strategic project and product development design sessions, giving feedback on our data structure, our roles & responsibilities and requirements for sign off
- Engage with strategic teams in regard to policy data in the subledger, and any development changes to how we store and query this data
- Be able to support accounting decisions with applicable data, and be able to present the support to a wide audience
- Achieve a master level understanding of our policyholder data structure and how to query and report the data for various requirements
- Engage with our business area on the identification and resolution of system and/or reconciliation issues
- Perform a technical validation of data conversion to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Propose accounting modernization opportunities for presenting to funding committee
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years experience in accounting or finance data analysis
- Experience with building robust queries such as SQL
- Successful history in mapping out procedures and documenting critical tasks in a workflow
- Experience communicating business requirements and managing project workstreams
- Experience with Microsoft Suite
- Familiarity with general ledger processing

What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $54,000 - $81,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
