Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

This Business Analyst is responsible for providing teams with the technical and tactical support they need to efficiently and effectively deliver high quality work to the customer. Our agile teams ask all to be leaders in their roles, and the Business Analyst is no exception; versatility, strong collaboration, and execution of a variety of activities help the team, Scrum Master, and others operate smoothly and deliver excellence to our customers.

Responsibilities And Contributions

Organizational and Leadership Role

  • Collaborates with others to influence stakeholders and grow buy-in of business projects.
  • Coordinates with project team members and other teams to produce better business outcomes.

Functional Role

  • Executes epics, features, and user stories, defining acceptance criteria and tests on behalf of the Product Owner and answering clarifying questions on any requirements.
  • Performs acceptance testing on behalf of the Product Owner.
  • Produces training materials and user guides and trains end users.
  • Facilitates meetings and workshops.
  • Examines user issues and translates them into user stories.
  • Documents business processes, system flows, and data flows; analyzes processes; and recommends improvements.
  • Constructs workflow diagrams.
  • Documents issues/risks.
  • Supports the Product Owner and Scrum Master as needed.
  • Assists in operational rollout and support.
  • Collects and analyzes data for potential business expansion.
  • Identifies specific business opportunities.

  • Demonstrated experience with writing epics, features, and user stories.
  • Demonstrated experience defining acceptance criteria, tests, ready, and done on behalf of the Product Owner and answering clarifying questions on requirements.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence (preferred) or other agile workflow management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience performing acceptance testing on behalf of the Product Owner.
  • Ability to examine user issues and translate them into user stories.
  • Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, build relationships, and influence others.

Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.

The salary ranges for this position based on location are listed below. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified as a part of our annual salary range review.

  • AL, FL, GA, TN Residents: $61,117 (min) - $76,396 (mid) - $91,675 (max)
  • NC Residents: $63,007 (min) - $78,759 (mid) - $94,511 (max)
  • DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $66,157 (min) - $82,697 (mid) - $99,236 (max)
  • DC Residents: $74,348 (min) - $92,935 (mid) - $111,523 (max)
  • CA & NY Residents: $76,869 (min) - $96,086 (mid) - $115,303 (max)

Within the range, starting pay for team members is based on the evaluation of the alignment with the position description requirements including job-related skills and experience or training. This range reflects your earning potential over the course of your career at Fearless in this position.
