Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

This position performs advanced data analysis to identify factors that affect business profitability, growth, and efficiency. Assesses current practices, collects information and industry trends, and creates specifications to support business operations. Determines improvements or solutions to address identified issues. Prepares technical reports by examining and summarizing data. May occasionally guide less experienced analysts or assist in development of process enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis - Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicates analysis output to internal and external (vendor) partners
  • Operational Support - Provides daily support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve standard practices. Assists in implementing recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.
  • Identifying Objectives - Determines overall business needs through analysis and reporting. Suggests strategies to achieve company and department goals. Assists in creating specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation to communicate business initiatives to wider work group including critical vendors.
  • Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, trends, and process capabilities. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement to various vendors, risk and compliance groups, and counsels

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in System Support or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience in System Support or Analytics

  • Ability to report across several lines of business and technology

  • Contract/cost reporting
  • Experience working in fast-paced environment
  • Background in Financial Services
  • Project management across several tracks of work
What we offer at First Citizens Bank

If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $79,900 and $108,100 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
