Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

The Business Analyst III performs advanced data analysis to identify factors that affect business profitability, growth, and efficiency. Assesses current practices, collects information and industry trends, and creates specifications to support business operations. Determines improvements or solutions to address identified issues. Prepares technical reports by examining and summarizing data. May occasionally guide less experienced analysts or assist in development of process enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs advanced data analysis, effectively communicating and directing analysis output.
  • Operational Support - Provides support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve team practices. Assists in streamlining daily workflow for overall unit, resolving escalated matters where possible. Implements recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.
  • Identifying Objectives - Determines business needs through complex analysis and reporting. Develops strategies to achieve company and department goals, and communicates these through the use of specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation.
  • Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement. May develop process enhancements based on reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience analytics and reporting

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in analytics and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sales analytics and sales operations
  • Proficient strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with Excel (including advanced knowledge of Pivot Tables, Macros, and formulas).
  • Powerpoint intermediate experience
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience with basic Tableau, SharePoint, or SQL. Intermediate-to-advanced-level SQL skills preferable.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
