Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

ECS is seeking a Business Analyst to work in our Remote office .

Job Description:

  • ECS is looking for a Business Analyst to support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort. In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting Agile programs and projects, specifically focusing on high-profile EHRM projects. We are currently seeking a talented and dynamic Business Analyst to join our team, specializing in government contracts. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of projects by leveraging strong consulting skills, an inquisitive nature, and the ability to make valuable recommendations to our government clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and meticulously document comprehensive business requirements for EHRM initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to government clients, providing expert guidance and consulting on business processes, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and constraints.
  • Create clear and detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, emphasizing precision in requirement documentation.
  • Formulate and present well-founded recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leverage Agile methodologies to foster flexibility and responsiveness to evolving project needs.
  • Apply Agile principles and practices to facilitate effective communication between development teams and stakeholders.
  • Utilize JIRA as a central tool for requirement management, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilize your understanding of EHRM principles and practices to align technical solutions with healthcare industry needs and regulations.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure EHRM solutions meet compliance and efficiency standards.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on government contracts.
  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with government clients.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in documenting requirements and maintaining project documentation using tools like JIRA.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster) are a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • A mindset for adaptability and continuous learning, staying informed about industry best practices, emerging trends.
  • Management consulting experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
