Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

The business analyst will work closely with stakeholders to identify business needs, problems, and opportunities, and then develop solutions that help the organization achieve its goals. The business analyst will be responsible for working directly with client teams, gathering and analyzing data, documenting business processes, building use cases, developing requirements, and identifying areas for improvement. The business analyst will work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions, analyzing the potential impact of the recommendations, and will be responsible for ensuring that solutions meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to identify business needs, problems, opportunities, areas to increase efficiency. Create business cases, use cases, and requirements to represent work. Write epics, features, and user stories for the implementation team. Write acceptance criteria for each story.
  • Gather and analyze data to identify trends and patterns, documenting data relationships, a common taxonomy, flow, and uses.
  • Document business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement timely solutions to meet business needs and requirements.
  • Provide timely communication to stakeholders on progress and develop solution requirements. Develop roll-out plans.
  • Write UAT test plans and test cases. Conduct UAT for internal clients. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions and make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Provide training and support to internal clients ensuring they can use solutions.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to ensure that solutions are innovative and fit for purpose.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Skills:

  • Prioritize business needs, problems, and opportunities by equating business impact of implements/not implementing them.
  • Prioritize requirements by equating them to business value.
  • Ability to gather and document user requirements and write test cases to meet those requirements.
  • Possess a combination of technical and social skills applicable to each initiative.
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing, diagramming (workflows, flow charts, data flows, sequences).
  • Experience in generating process documentation and procedures and presenting to stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in Business / Systems Analysis or related area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 - 4 Years experience.
  • Business Analysis, Computer Science, or Related Field preferred.
