Job Description & Responsibilities
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team to support an essential modernization program for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid. As a member of our Agile team, you will support several complex and high-volume customer systems. The ideal candidate would have experience using SAFe Agile to capture requirements using Epics and Features.
Responsibilities:
- Experience in communicating and working with stakeholders to translate the business vision into actionable requirements
- Excellent requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation skills
- Ability to create business and technical process and data flow diagrams
- Ability to coordinate across business and technical resources to get needed information on a timely basis
- Ability to create clearly defined requirements as Epics and Features
- Ability to assist product owners in clarifying business requirements
- Experience coordinating and facilitating meetings with clear agendas and in keeping participants on-track
- Experience collecting Front End and Back End requirements
- Ability to present demonstrations of completed work to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to create / maintain documentation related to the project, including use cases
- As a member of a scrum team, actively participates in daily scrum meeting to support requirements clarification and raise impediments impacting delivery
- Participates in Program Quarterly Incrementation Planning sessions to assess work and establish development goals
- Supports integration and customer acceptance testing to provide requirements troubleshooting support
Requirements
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five years related experience
- Minimum of three years of experience capturing and writing requirements as Epics and Features
- Minimum of three years of business processes and business analysis experience in a system engineering or software application environment
- U.S. Citizen with existing or the ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or Agile/Iterative software development methodology including Scrum environment
- Excellent knowledge of best practices and an understanding of industry trends and difficulties
- Experience with U.S Department of Education, Federal Student Aid or administrating federal student aid.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to integrate information from multiple sources
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with Confluence
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
- Critical thinking, problem solving skills, written, and oral communication skills.
- Personal accountability, organized, self-motivated, and demonstrates initiative.
What we offer
The likely salary range for this position is $60,549 - $101,109. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
