Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

We are a mid-size company with a unique industry-disrupting earned media offering and high-quality market research. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and analytical tech-savvy individual with superb communication skills to help connect the dots between data and decision-making. This role requires someone to have a keen ability to identify areas of opportunity to increase efficiency, improve collaboration and optimize processes across teams. The ideal candidate is a big-picture thinker who can also get into the details to smooth areas of friction in the company workflow and ultimately help to drive the recommended change throughout the organization.

The Business Analyst's responsibilities include; tracking business results, increasing financial and operational efficiency, managing critical business systems, and owning KPIs. To be a successful Business Analyst, you would ideally have experience in the same or similar role, doing data analysis and sharing insights across the entire organization. This job requires a strong ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities.

To be eligible for the job, candidates need to be based in FL, CA or TX. We are currently working on a hybrid schedule, and depending on the candidate's location, they may be asked to come into the office a couple of days per week.

Job Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assist the further development of database system for the overall business
  • Leverage new and existing tools to enhance and develop new reporting capabilities of the group
  • Own and develop reporting/dashboard to show operational results and key metrics
  • Collaborate across the business on data, processes, and analyses and be able to report that back to senior management
  • Build relationships and collaborate closely with all teams across the business
  • Analyze information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights for senior management decision making
  • Partner with stakeholders on the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of business process changes to improve business outcomes.
  • Lead implementation and evaluation of business process changes or a portion of a larger initiative.
  • Receive, evaluate, and respond to data-related inquiries by obtaining information from various sources.
  • Manage our key systems and ensure that they remain fit-for-purpose
  • Track contracts and spending across the organization and offer recommendations for cost efficiencies
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Competencies typically acquired through a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in addition to 2+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of database and business intelligence tools preferred
  • Experience with HubSpot (CRM), Notion (project management), Power BI, Google Data Studio, would be a plus

Requirements

  • Displays strong research, problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to interpret financial data and allocate budgets
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Solid ability to support change and impart value within the organization.
  • Solid project management skills as part of implementing business process changes.
