Job Description & Responsibilities
The Business Analyst works with claim and technology representatives to facilitate and resolve issues associated with the technical processing of workers' compensation, specialty, property and casualty claims. You will become a subject matter expert by interacting with a variety of teams regarding assignments of moderate claim and technical complexity. You will partner with the Claim Professional to review procedures, Learning & Development to create new training material, IT in the discovery and resolution of issues, and support personnel to ensure key characteristics are present for straight through claim processing.
This position enjoys a hybrid work schedule determined by the needs of the business that typically consists of one to two day(s) per week in a CNA office, with the remainder of your week as optional remote.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and conduct working sessions where business needs are prioritized and resolved in a timely fashion.
- Is the first point of resolution regarding Help Desk tickets associated with claim applications, e.g.ClaimCenter, ACT.
- Supports system test planning to ensure that test conditions, scripts, validation criteria, and expected results will successfully test the business and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborates in training new hires, determination of team structure within ClaimCenter, assignment logic, issues with financial payment issuance, system latency, security access, claim set up/technical completion, and system testing for IT solutions.
- Assures that necessary research is performed in order to fully understand the business issues, develop possible solutions and to support development of innovative, cost effective solutions.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Broad understanding of or willingness to learn the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations.
- Broad knowledge of the system development life cycle, and technology alternatives; understanding of interface design and user centered work methods.
- Strong knowledge of or willingness to learn client area's business and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Solid oral and written communication skills and ability to convey business requirements and technical needs in clear, concise, and effective manner.
- Solid client and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients and IT staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software systems.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Typically a minimum of four years’ experience in business analysis, product management, product ownership or other related field.
What we offer
In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $49,000 to $98,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
