Job Description & Responsibilities
At Regions, the Business Analyst serves as an intermediary between the team and the assigned line of business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Advocates for the business clients in all phases of the complex solution development lifecycle for each of the critical stages, including initiation, analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation follow up
- Performs complex analysis and works closely with the business clients to identify core business issues to map out possible solutions
- Develops the business case for action, defining the need, the method, and the benefits of proposed solutions
- Undertakes complex analysis to develop the detailed requirements of the solution to satisfy the business need
- Works closely with the development team to refine the solution design, methods, and outcomes
- Monitors progress to ensure that the emerging solution meets the demands of the requirement document
- Resolves conflicts arising due to any technical deviations from the agreed requirements
- Works closely with the testing team, using the requirements document as a critical guide, to ensure that issues are identified and fully resolved prior to roll out
- Evaluates how users are working with the solution during the implementation phase and ensures modifications are made, where necessary
- Keeps abreast of best practices, resources, and trends
- May work on assignments in multiple business or technical areas
- May train and assist junior staff
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or related field
- Six (6) years of experience in Business/Systems analysis or related field
Preferences
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or closely related

- Build the capabilities and structure for ad-hoc and recurring analysis and reporting and refine over time
- Source, aggregate, and visualize complex information into actionable insights for all levels of leadership
- Effectively partner with key stakeholders from across the bank, including the Transformation Office, Finance, Technology, Operations, lines of business, and Strategic Planning
- Drive continuous improvement through detailed, data-driven analyses of all aspects of the business transformation process
- Utilize data to objectively measure effectiveness of strategic efforts
- Ability to facilitate creation and/or automation of a reporting structure for ad hoc and recurring reporting, including partnering with key stakeholders across the organization, identifying reporting needs, cadence, and format
- Experience with developing, tracking, and communicating on KPIs for complex or cross-functional efforts
- Strategic mindset and proven experience with crafting strategy, communicating strategic vision, or aligning tasks with execution of strategy for a larger effort
- Proven effective communication and ability to influence across all levels of business partners, including senior leadership, with the ability to present complex information into actionable recommendations
This position will work a hybrid schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work.
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.

Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
