Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, under the guidance of the Manager Supply Chain Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for supporting the financial needs of the organization with regards to reporting, accruals, and budgeting/forecasting. You will support the preparation of monthly accruals and reports on expense and capital spending, with emphasis on explaining variances from plan and forecast. Additionally, as a Business Analyst you will be responsible for maintaining and improving models that can provide guidance in forecasting expense and explaining variances. This position also provides support for the development of the annual financial plan.

A Day In The Life

  • Provides analytical and financial support to the Supply Chain Finance team. The Analyst supports the preparation of month-end accruals and administrates and reviews payment of invoices by third party vendors. The Analyst prepares or supports the preparation of variance reports and forecasts as requested.
  • As part of the annual budget process will help support building budgets for key logistics accounts that may include transportation and/or DC Operational expenses with input and guidance from key stakeholders. Also prepares or supports the preparation of analysis and reporting to track performance measures and variances.
  • As part of the weekly forecast cycle, has responsibility for updating relevant data sets and models to help forecast expenses.
  • Provide analysis as needed for various constituents throughout the supply chain.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

To Be Successful You Should Possess

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; Bachelor’s acceptable in a similar field of study with multiple years of relevant work experience

Understanding of general accounting and financial principles required. Strong Microsoft Office (Excel/Access) experience is required.

3 – 5 years financial analysis experience preferred. Experience with monthly accrual processes preferred, utilities accrual experience strongly desired.

Ability to deliver accurate results and meet tight deadlines. Ability to analyze data and perform advanced financial analysis. Advanced Excel user, knowledge of PowerPoint. Planning software experience a plus.
