Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organization

Leads the financial performance and delivery of key P&L components for Golf Marketing Expenses and Operating Overheads. Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial reporting, and for financial analysis on an ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Acts as key financial business partner to the Business Units and Brand leaders within the Golf organization. Ensures integrity and transparency of performance measurements against plans to assure financial and non-financial targets are achieved. Provides financial support for strategic and tactical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads all financial aspects of Marketing expenses and Operating Overheads
  • Collaborates with Marketing and department leads to plan, forecast, and control budgets
  • Owns the month-end and year-end close process; establishes quality control over financial transactions and reporting
  • Provides action-oriented financial guidance and analysis on business plans and goals to support the Marketing Team in effective decision-making and the achievement of targeted profitability and growth
  • Drives cross functional alignment on financial and KPI reporting and analysis for Marketing Team and T&E.
  • Collaborates with Marketing on strategic topics to address business risks and opportunities and to influence the outcome and find creative solutions
  • Ensures financial and non-financial managers are provided top notch, timely, and highly accurate reports, information and analysis for their business decisions
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc analysis utilizing data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Contribute to the development of standardized best practice reporting and control methods
  • Creates and delivers educational materials and training to business partners related to budget and forecast

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, cross functional business leaders, and peers, including non-financial professionals
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, comfort with Finance and/or Accounting principles
  • Proven cross functional ability to create creative and innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong prioritization skills, detail oriented, and the ability to accomplish multiple assignments under tight timelines
  • Ability to troubleshoot and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in order to find a solution
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Sporting goods industry and adidas business knowledge preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel. Strongly proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint, and SAP (or other ERP software)

Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; MBA/CPA preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in financial analysis or planning
  • Industry specific experience preferred
  • Solid accounting skills and experience preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software a major plus
  • Advanced Excel skills required
